Cocktail de la Saint Martin
L'Accueil Bonneau is a homeless shelter in Montreal. I have been fortunate to be a part of the big family who helps the homeless population of Montreal. This involvement brought me to photograph their clientele, as well as the people who sponsor the organization, or the volunteers who are every day on the ground helping them.
I pushed the door to l’Accueil Bonneau for the very first time about 10 years ago. I always have been intrigued and chocked by the number of homeless people living on the streets of Montreal. At the time, I was not able to reach into my otherwise shallow pockets to help each homeless living in Montreal. I then decided to put my knowledge of photography and image-making at the service of an organization who makes a real difference on the streets of Montreal.
As an institution, this Montreal beacon of hope needs to communicate, and the photos are a powerful way to do it efficiently. I was quickly accepted as a volunteer photographer, by the staff, the volunteers and the clientele with whom I have the privilege to help make a difference.
